About Tiff Lacey

tiff lacey

Hello, I am Tiff Lacey.

Some of you may know me better for my songwriting and vocal creations over dance tracks than for my art and photography.

I left school at the ripe old age of 17 with a bucketful of "CSEs", a handful of "O" levels, one in Photography and an "A" level in art.  Despite having dreams of pursuing a fashion or artistic career I had no encouragement or help from school and so I ended up joining the Ministry of Defence instead of going to Art College.

Some may think this was a strange decision but my journey from there to here has been filled with so many experiences I don't regret my decision.

I am not a fine artist which is frustrating for me in itself but I have spent many years developing my own style of which I hope you will enjoy.

I have a "magpie" view and love things that shine.  When a work colleague dragged me to an El Greco exhibition way back in the 80's, this opened up a whole new vista of colour for me.  This was further enforced when I found Gustav Klimt's work and endorsed my love for the use of gold leaf in my paintings.

I was so proud when one of my paintings was used on the cover of a book last year.  The painting now hangs in a school.

I hope you enjoy your visit here and return to see new paintings and creations as they are added.
